No pictures of my weekend

Good morning. I had a very busy weekend. I didn't get to sleep in once. My parents were in town on Friday so I went and had dinner with them. On Saturday I got up early and went to College Station to hang out with my sis and her boys. I thought we were going to take pictures at the park on Saturday but it was so stinkin hot that we vetoed that idea. We had a wonderful time hanging out and shopping. I miss being able to see them whenever I want. *Sigh*

On Sunday I went to church. Crazy, I know. A friend of ours was having her new baby dedicated. I didn't know what that was but I went. In the church I grew up in we didn't have confirmations or dedications. We also didn't have rock groups and jam sessions. This was the most irreverent church I had ever been to. I guess they have to do something to keep people's attention. After that I went to Walmart to buy more fabric. I absolutely fell in love with a fabric I used to make one of my pillowcases. The turquise paisley one. I think it will match my bedsheets wonderfully. So I bought more so I can make me a few more pillowcases. I am a master pillowcaser now cause I have made 3.

That was the extent of my weekend. It was a good weekend. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. I had planned on using the ones I was supposed to take on Saturday.

Happy Monday??

I am having a really hard time getting motivated this morning. It took me forever to get up and I have been kind of in a bad mood since. But enough on that because I know that noone wants my negativity. So I will be positive from here on-
My weekend was pretty good. Friday I went and had a mani/pedi and went to lunch with friends. It was very nice.
The pedi was AWESOME!!

Saturday, I went and met my sister. We went to this really cool bead store and I bought a bunch of beads for really cheap so that was great. Then we just fiddled around, it was nice to get out of the house for a bit. On the way home I dropped my youngest off at his grandparents for the week. It is always so quiet when he is gone. I miss him like crazy already.
On my way home I took these lovely pictures.
I saw this really pretty sunflower field with tons of beautiful flowers in it.

I took this one while going down the road and hanging out the window. I really love the color in it.

Here is the brownie cake that my boys made me for my birthday. Aside from the wax that melted all over it from the candles it was really good.

Today's my BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today is my birthday and instead of getting older I have decided to get younger (don't you wish that it worked that way sometimes). Anyways today I am meeting up with some friends and we are getting a mani/pedi and drink some Margaritas-just the ladies so it should be fun. So Happy Birthday to me!! :) I promise I am only 25 ;)
Tomorrow I am going to College Station to meet my sister for the day (that is our half way point between our houses). We have no idea what we are going to do exactly but we figure that we will find out once we get there. So we have decided our photography for this weekend will be of whatever we decide to do or if we come in contact with anything truely picture worthy. So what does that mean??? That we all can take pictures of whatever and do whatever the heck that we want to this weekend!!! Just get out and have some FUNNNNN!!! On Sunday fingers crossed-I will hopefully complete some sewing. My sister has completely outshone me-I seriously need to get on the ball-But whatever.
Oh and by the way- The Twilight Saga/Eclipse comes out Wednesday-YIPPEE I can hardly wait and I will definitely be bloggin about that.

Weekend Pictures

Good morning everyone! I remembered my camera so I am able to talk about my weekend. It was ridiculous hot so I tried to stay inside as much as possible. Unfortunately this means I wasn't able to take many pictures. I suppose I took several random photos, but not any framed ones. The good news? I was able to finished my 3 quilt blocks so I am all caught up on my block of the month program. Yippee! Those guys are hard and I still have a week until I pick up 2 more.

Next, I worked on my pillowcases. I was on a sewing roll and I didn't want to stop. The pillow cases turned out to be pretty easy. I like the finished product a lot more than I thought I would and honestly, I think the frogs and lizards one is my fav.

Sorry the pillow case pictures are a little dark. My husband and I spent the better part of a day hanging ceiling fans in my sewing room and the spare room. At the end of it all the spare room fan wobbled horribly and we couldn't get it fixed. Sooo.... We took the fan back down and had to take it back to the store. Now that room doesn't have a fan or a light. Not to worry though, we picked up a new fan and will have it installed soon.

All in all it was a very productive weekend. I hope you all had the same.

Good morning everyone! I apologize, I was out of the office yesterday so I did not post. Unfortunately I forgot my camera this morning so I cannot post my pictures today either. I know, I know. I suck. I have decided that I will not talk about my weekend until I have the pictures to go along with it so you all will have to wait until tomorrow.

Good Morning everyone!!! I had a busy but fun weekend. My youngest turned 9 on Saturday and we went to see Toy Story III, like I mentioned in my previous post. I do have to say that I was really impressed by this movie until the end. Andy got a bit cheesy and it kinda felt like an afterschool special to me, but other than that I really liked it. I think I liked it better than the 2nd one.
For my random shots I took pictures of my Thombo decorating his cake and the end result. I think he did pretty good and he had a lot of fun doing it.

I know this is blurry-but I thought it looked cool so I figured that I would post it anyway.

Natural framing was the other challenge and I must admit that I was really busy and did not get a chance to really do this like I wanted to. Here is a shot that I took a few months ago. I really like the way that the trees frame the path in the middle.

Ok once again I have not heard from my sister this morning so I am not sure what she has or has not completed. I will try to find her here in a few. I still have not gotten very far on the pillowcases and I only have a week and a half left in June-I think I seriously need to get on the ball and get sewing. Friday, I'm in love with you!!!

Good Morning or Good afternoon depending on when you read this!! I had a great week I just wish it wasn't so darn HOT, but I live in Texas and it is Summer so what else would I expect. Does everyone have awesome weekend plans? My youngest turns 9 tomorrow-I must admit I am alittle depressed about that. My boys just keep getting older no matter how many times I tell them not to. Last year as soon as we found out that Toy Story III was coming out he decided that was what he wanted to do for his birthday, so that is what we are doing. I really enjoyed the first 2 but I am having a hard time believing that #3 will be all that. We shall see and I will let you know on Monday my take of Andy going to college and the whole Toy Story gang.(not that my opinion counts-but I am still gonna give it)
Ok-now for the weekend challenges:
Random-take a picture of anything and everything that your heart desires
Natural framing-like tunnels, trees, buildings anything that frames something else
Last but not least we really need to get to sewing the pillow cases-The month of June is moving right along and we are not.

Trying but unsuccessful

Ok I know that I said I would post my pictures on Tuesday but I have been really busy this week. So I am trying to do it now, but I can not get things to cooperate with me. So I just wanted to let everyone know that I sooo did not forget I have just been unable to :)

So what are we deciding on for tomorrow-Any ideas or suggestions?

Mornin' everyone!!

My weekend was great-I took an extra day which was awesome. I spent Friday cleaning out my old house which is something I have put off doing for 4 months-But I am proud to say that I am finished and now I no longer have to worry about it. So I have a great feeling of accomplishment as far as that is concerned. The weekend challenge-totally different story :) I am a total forgetting slacker. First of all I forgot to do the challenge until the last minute so I rushed around to complete it-Which i did. I woke up late this morning so I forgot my camera at home and I left my tennis shoes at home as well. So now not only do I not get to show off my last minute pics but I do not get to walk today either. This is not the best way to start a week. I am so forgetful sometimes-or maybe I am just absent minded, who knows and sometimes I am so together and organized. It is very, very frustrating. I will try to post tomorrow.

Weekend Challenge

Good afternoon everyone! I know you are all looking forward to another well deserved weekend. I know I am. I hope to get some sewing done since I still have tons to do and only a couple of weekends left to do it.

My sis is out today so I am picking and posting our challenges for the weekend. I have picked lines and curves. I think it will be interesting to see what kind of pictures you can take when you are only looking for shapes.

This weekend was very productive (although not in the way you would think). I didn't get a single stitch done on my sewing but I did get my new piece of furniture stained so now my living room will be complete. Let me tell you, staining is hard work. I sweated and worked and my whole body hurts today, but I was outside all weekend long and it felt good.
Now about my pictures. After all that hard work staining I went inside and took a nice long bubble bath and I took pictures. Calm down! These are all G-rated. Actually, before all of the staining (I got up pretty early on Sunday morning) I went outside to check out some fences. I got a really cool picture of my fence, but it is alittle misleading. It wasn't foggy that glorious morning. It was humid as H..E..double hockey sticks! That caused my lens to fog up but I kept taking pictures until it passed and I like the results. I also got some good pictures of spiderwebs and bugs on flowers, but those are on my flickr page.

That was the bulk of my weekend. I hope you all had a good weekend too. Laterz!

Good Morning!!!

Good Morning and Happy Monday!!! I soooo did not want to get up this morning but here I am. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was nice and relaxing-which is all I really wanted so I am now a happy girl. Hopefully, it will last for alittle while. The challenges for the weekend were fences and bubbles. I love taking pictures of fences-you can play around and get all different kinds of pictures.

And now my pathetic attempt with bubbles. Not what I wanted to end up with but the kiddos had fun. I had planned on something totally different but the wind wouldn't stop blowing.

Hello ALL!!

Hello! Another week ends and another weekend begins. I hope to do almost absolutely nothing this weekend. If I can make it through with doing as little as possible I will be one happy girl :) Maybe I will read a book or watch a movie-Who knows? Anyone have any movies or books that they can recommend? The best movie I have seen lately was Daybreakers, and I really loved that movie. I saw Dear John and thought it was an okay movie-The fact that it had Channing Tatum in it gave it a few extra points. I recently watched Season 2 of Trueblood on DVD-In my opinion this show is AWESOME and the books that it came from. If you haven't read or watched, I strongly recommend.

These can be as easy and simple or as creative and planned out as you want them. I think it is going to be really HOT this weekend here so we shall see what level of motivation I end up at. I will definitely get started on the pillowcases that we are making (I can do that in the AC-Thank goodness).

My quilting

#2 here. I mentioned in an earlier post that I was quilting too. I think I may have bitten off more than I can metaphorically chew. I am an amateur quilter, at best. I took one class and had a good time so naturally I would think I was a pro now. Or course, we made a baby sized quilt in the class. That brings my total number of completed quilts to two. The store that I took the class at offers a "block of the month" type of program and, now that I am a pro, I decided to participate. Boy, I am super smart (or a sucker for punishment)! I thought I was doing awesome when I got my first block last month. I cut out all my pieces and stitched them together... Then I un-stitched a little, then restitched... Then un-stitched... Well, you get the idea. Eventually I had a pretty acceptable block completed and I was feeling pretty proud of myself. And I still had 3 weeks until my next block. So jump ahead 3 weeks to this past Tuesday. I go in to collect my next block and what do I find out?? There were supposed to be 2 blocks last month and there are two blocks this month. I now have 3 blocks that I need to complete this month and these blocks are even more complicated than the first block. Oh, the agony! Add these 3 blocks to the 3 pillowcases, my sofa cushions (which I mentioned a week or so ago) and the weekend challenges and I will be lucky to see the month of June. I think I might end up pushing a project back a month (ahem... sofa cushions). Not to worry though, I will do my best to not let you down. I will try to meet the deadlines my sis and I set here.

Now that I have included you all in my quilting woes I will be sure to keep you apprised of my progress. Who knows, I might even post pictures if my blocks aren't too embarrassing.

Extra Credit

I apologize, I think I was supposed to post this yesterday and I got busy at work and forgot. My sis and I decided that we wanted to expand on our weekend challenges. We are going to start doing monthly crafts in addition to the weekend challenges. I know what you are all thinking. Where do we find the time?? Well, we don't. That is why it is a monthly craft and not a daily, weekly, or bi-monthly craft.

We are doing the first month a little differently than the following months. Originally we wanted the craft to be the crafter's choice and for it to be a surprise to all involved until the end of the month when we post our results. We decided that this month would be different.

My sis emailed me about a pillowcase challenge she found online. You can read more about it here www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/. Basically All People Quilt is trying to get people involved in their local charities by inspiring people to make pillowcases and donate them. My sis and I thought this was a fantastic idea so we decided this would be our first month's craft. We each are making 3 pillowcases to donate to charity. This is a great cause. There are tons of children that need a little inspiration and one little pillowcase is all it takes. Please help us by making a few pillowcases and donating them. If you don't know what charity to donate to then go to the site above and search for a local store that is participating. They will take your pillowcases and donate them for you.

If sewing isn't your thing then you can also donate red scarves to the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease. You can read more about it here www.womenheart.org/programsEvents/programs/heartscarves.cfm. All you do is knit or crochet a red scarf and send it to the address on the website. You can also purchase a kit with instructions if you would rather. You scarf could provide strength and encouragement to a woman fighting heart disease.

Get involved people! The worst that can happen is that you'll feel good for a day.

Good Morning ALL!!! Did everyone have a great weekend? I know that I did-It was simply wonderful. Friday I sat around watching movies, Saturday we did my son's birthday, Sunday me and my sis hung out and took silly pics and yesterday I cleaned and lazed around. All in all it was a truely awesome time off.

Taking pictures was alot of fun and frustrating all at the same time. We tried taking them inside but the light wouldn't cooperate so we finally went outside and it was soooo HOT. So we got what we could, I think over all we got some really good shots (and some not so good but I won't be sharing those)

Makeup!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Memorial Day. I know I did. I had the most fun hanging out with my sis and getting uber silly. My favorite part of the weekend was playing dress up and taking pictures. I am going to post my favs of my sis and my favs of myself. These are all pictures I took. I'll be honest, I don't like my shoe pics so I am just going to inundate you with makeup pictures instead.

So much to talk about. My sis and I finally went to the store and bought our fabric for the pillowcases we are going to make. We will probably talk more about those when we get them finished. The biggest step is done though cause we have the fabric now. The rest should be downhill.

I also took some pictures of a fire the boys made and some pictures of a national park my husband and I went to but those won't be posted here. I will put them on my Flickr page if anyone wants to go look.

I might start blogging about my quilting but that is another conversation for another time. I will end this here.
